Official reveal trailer
The IGN trailer index dates the official reveal trailer to 6 June 2025. That film is the reveal, and the player-facing date is the index date.
End of Abyss released on 1 October 2026. The reveal trailer is indexed to 6 June 2025. A later trailer index entry is dated 5 June 2026. The Xbox Wire hands-on is 19 June 2026. Those four dates are the whole public timeline this page will draw. Anything between them that was not indexed here is left off the line.
The studio is Section 9 Interactive in Malmö. Epic Games Publishing handles the Epic Games Store and Xbox editions. The PlayStation listing names Epic Games Inc. PlayStation credit line is ©2025 Section 9 Interactive AB, and the studio credit line is ©2026 Section 9 Interactive AB.
The IGN trailer index dates the official reveal trailer to 6 June 2025. That film is the reveal, and the player-facing date is the index date.
IGN lists a 5 June 2026 trailer entry for End of Abyss. It is a second index line, a year after the reveal.
A Summer Game Fest Play Days session. Reactor cores, twin-stick controls, and an Xbox date of 1 October 2026. The weapons in that session were an energy pistol, a limited shotgun, flares, and grenades.
PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store edition share this release date. The US list price on PlayStation and Xbox is 29.99.
6 June 2025 is the date to remember for the first film. The IGN index is what dates End of Abyss, the official reveal trailer, to that day. A year later, 5 June 2026, the same index adds another trailer line. The two entries are not the same upload. Use the first when someone asks when the game was announced in public, and the second when they ask what moved in the summer before launch.
19 June 2026 is the hands-on, published from a Summer Game Fest Play Days session. The report describes reactor cores and twin-stick controls, and it gives the Xbox date as 1 October 2026. The weapons handled in that session were an energy pistol, a limited shotgun, flares, and grenades. The energy pistol matches the Pulse Gun you start with. The limited shotgun matches the role the Riot Breaker later fills on Habitation F1. Flares are not a seventh weapon row. Grenades are on the Scanner page because Well Done and Triple-Kill are throw trophies.
1 October 2026 is the release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store. IGN shows a score of 6 for the PC review by Jesse Vitelli and lists the genres Adventure and Horror. Those genre words are the review index, beside the Action and Shooter labels used on the stores. Xbox categories are Action and adventure, and Shooter. PlayStation’s genre line is Action. Quote the label from the store you are standing on.
The founders named with the studio are Mattias Ottval, Marcus Ottval, and Gustaf Heinerwall, formerly of Tarsier. The studio site places the work in Malmö. The copyright lines differ by a year: the PlayStation credit is ©2025 Section 9 Interactive AB, and the studio credit is ©2026 Section 9 Interactive AB. Keep both years if you are crediting a still. The films embedded on this page are the release trailer, the reveal, the Epic upload, the creators video, and the secrets video. The mission still above them is a frame from the release film, separate from the player that starts when you press play.
The date is the short answer. The long answer is which page you need next. Sector routes explain Outer Sector, Habitation, Factory East, Maintenance, the Lower Levels, and the Infirmary, plus the three SCU names that have no floor. Weapons explain the six pickups and the fire gate between the Incinerator and the Particle Disruptor. The Scanner page is charges, keycards, grenades, and shuttles. Trophies are the forty-four rows with rank and hidden flags. The logbook is the four lists inside Completionist. Platforms are the price, the ratings, the byte size, and the TBC PC block.
If you only needed the announcement order, you can stop at the timeline. 6 June 2025, then 5 June 2026, then 19 June 2026, then 1 October 2026. The hands-on is the one that describes how a room feels: twin sticks, a pistol, a shotgun with limited ammo, flares, and grenades, inside a facility that still has reactor cores to bring online. Power Online and Waste Management, on the trophy page, are the trophy-shaped versions of that reactor work. They are not dated on this timeline, because the timeline is publicity, not a quest order.
Store trailers also sit on the platform page, including the Xbox shop film. The YouTube films stay beside the dates they belong to. Start with the reveal if you want 2025. Start with the release trailer if you want the film closest to 1 October 2026. The creators video and the secrets video are extra walks through the same facility, useful once the dates are already settled and you want another look at a corridor before you drop in with Cel.
Say 6 June 2025 for the reveal, 5 June 2026 for the later trailer index line, 19 June 2026 for the hands-on, and 1 October 2026 for the release. The hands-on is the day reactor cores and twin-stick controls were described together, with an energy pistol, a limited shotgun, flares, and grenades in the session. The founders Mattias Ottval, Marcus Ottval, and Gustaf Heinerwall are the names attached to Section 9 Interactive, formerly of Tarsier, working in Malmö. IGN’s PC review by Jesse Vitelli carries a score of 6 and the genres Adventure and Horror, which sit beside the store labels Action and Shooter rather than replacing them.
